ALBUM IS FINISHED !!!
Our forthcoming album INTO THE ARMS OF CHAOS (how to steal the fire from heaven) is finished now.
Just came back from England where I produced the record together with Mr. John A.Rivers and long time band friend Zebo Adam.
There will be 10 tracks, 3 of them are real monster songs who scratching around the 10min mark.
And how the hell does it sound like? Well, exactly like I wanted it to sound, lots of layers and textures and very hard and pretty dark at parts. I really think that album is a big step for us both arrangement and production wise.
Some of you might be surprised with what we are coming up with in October when the record will be finally in stores. Especially those who are listening to our stuff until the early days, but I can assure you we are still Whispers in the Shadow but we are floating in a different galaxy now, for some of you this galaxy will be solid ground, some of you might wonder what this is all about. And some will finally understand that this is a unique band now and there is no need to compare anymore.
The music speaks for it self, if you listen carefully and if you dare to follow us down into the abyss you will be surprised "how deep the rabbit hole goes".
This might not be an easy record, but then again who wants to hear 3 minute pop songs about love and losing love for a million times AGAIN ?
Come on it's time for a change now!

Almost finished the recordings
I can already say that you can expect nothing less then the most heavy album we did so far, everything sounds so much "deeper", sure this is not death metal , but I think you will understand when you will have a listen. There are lot's of layers and textures in the songs...there is a lot to discover if you will take a closer listen, if you dare to follow the sound and noise down to the land underground...
Yesterday night until the early morning I recorded the vocals in almost one go, which was really a special experience for me...I'm still in some sort of trance today. A very special thanks to zebo adam who watched over the recordings, and made this intense session possible.
Meanwhile I nailed down my tracks there where hugh thunderstorms outside and the studio got almost flooded twice! but this couldn't really stop us from dwelling into it deeper and deeper, so to speak ..hahaha...
I will finish the last two vocal tracks soon and then head off to england to mix the whole thing with John A.Rivers.

Recording News
We are entering the studio next week to start what will become our forthcoming record, entitled INTO THE ARMS OF CHAOS (how to steal the fire from heaven)
The release is set to be in october with our new partner in crime: echozone records.
The songs will be recorded here in vienna with our long-time friend / producer Zebo Adam, before I head off to Leamington Spa / England to mix the whole thing with John A.Rivers who is known for his work with "Dead can Dance", "Clan of Xymox", "The Virgin Prunes", "Love & Rockets"...
I can already say that I haven't put that much work, sweat, energy and "blood" into any songwriting process before, both music and lyric/concept wise...and we are looking forward to finaly record these songs that already mean so much to us.

The Present
We are very sorry to confirm that our Show in Vienna
on the 04.07.2008 @ Replugged is cancelled!
We are currently working on the forthcoming album and decided to finsih it before we set foot on a stage again.
We have to wrap it up before some deadlines, and this seems to be more important to us then to do a one off show.
We are also working hard on a DVD entitled "tunes from underneath the surface" which will see the light of day as a bonus disc for the new album, incl. a live show, interviews & behind the very scenes...
There will be a headline vienna gig later this year, and the support show with Garden of Delight in September (19th) at the Viper Room is still fixed.
May the great old ones give us the power and strength to finish the record in time...

Confirm Support of GOD
We confirm the Support for the upcomming Garden of Delight Show on the 19.9.2008 at Viper Room-Vienna.
They sadly decided to split up, we are proud to Support them durring their first and also last Vienna Show.

We currently work on new matrial and fixed the first Dates for Demo Recordings.
We already played some of the new Material during the last Tour:

(ritual drums, meets symbolistic lyrics and a driving bass, above all a descending keyboard theme that goes on for forever. Inspired by and for Austin Osman Spare)
The Last Time
(the most progressive song we ever did..)
Down by the Sea
(very dark, very long, inspired by the writings of H.P.Lovecraft)
Killing Time
( a song about boredom, short, dancy but with a dark twist)
Some of you folks already have a glimpse of where the road will lead us this time.
A much darker road it is indeed.
A burning flame, a haunting theme, symbolism and iconoclasm...but wait until we discover the whole of the truth...

Upcomming Show in Vienna
We confirm the Support for the upcomming L'ame Immortelle Show on the 16.2.2008 at Szene Vienna during their "Namenlos" Release Tour.
The performance will be recorded with 3 or 4 cameras
to give you an impression what a Whispers Show looks like.
We also did a coverversion for their forthcoming Album.
The Song is called "Requiem" and
Ashley will sing in German for the first time (and in his Words also for the the last time, that's almost for sure)

We know it was about time to revive our homepage,
good things come to those who wait, they say,
but we haven't found out who "they" are...
Take a step inside these halls and learn how to pray and sway,
listen to the death chants of the lost angels,
watch pictures from the ancient past,
and learn about these shadows out of time.
We are currently prepairing a tour for late autumn
(starting at the end of november)
and we hope to see some of you folks out there on our road to exess,
which hopefuly will lead us to the tower of wisdom.
Our first two records, laudanum (1997) & november (1999)
are waiting for a new rise,
full with bonus chants and forgotten sounds.
A brandnew vision is about to be seen,
an unheard sound
is about to rise,
an unknown truth is about to be reveild.
